The Importance of Keeping a Promise Polished
This I Believe Essay Reflection:
This assignment was a challenging one. It is not often that you are asked by a teacher to turn in a personal essay. It had been a while since I have wrote an essay of this sort. I think I did a good job of making my point. I also think that I used good examples, and my belief had communal relevance. The word limit was a real challenge for me while I was writing this essay. I did not get to fully explain some things I wanted to in my personal example. I feel like those extra details were necessary, and they have been included in my polished essay. The extra details allows the reader to understand more of what goes on at a drill competition, and why the one mistake I made was so big. The critique I received on my essay helped me a great deal. I was told repeatedly that my essay was good, but I needed to make it more personal. My professor also noted opportunities where I could explain a little bit more about how I was feeling to help my paper. This is when I began to learn the importance of peer review for writing.
